💰 Officials Development Fund

Table Tennis Australia (TTA) is committed to building the quality and quantity of Referees and Umpires nationwide, as outlined in the TTA Strategic Plan. To support this goal, TTA has allocated $10,000 annually in the TTA Budget for the Officials Development Fund, expected to be an ongoing resource.

📝 Approved Usage Areas

The Officials Development Fund may be used to cover major officiating-related expenses, including:

• Officiating course registration costs

• Flights to attend officiating courses

• Accommodation to attend officiating courses

• Flights to attend National or International events

• Accommodation to attend National or International events

These areas address the key costs faced by officials and maximize the benefit of the fund.

✅ Approval Process

1. Application:
   Officials must complete an online application form, specifying the amount requested and its purpose. Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the expenditure.

2. Assessment:
   The TTA Umpires & Referees Committee (URC) preliminarily reviews applications.

3. Approval:

   • If supported, URC advises the TTA CEO for final approval.

   • If the CEO has no objections, the application is approved.

   • If not supported, the applicant is informed of the reasons.

4. Notification:
   The URC communicates the outcome and amount approved to the official applicant.

⚖️ Criteria for Funding

When reviewing applications, the URC considers:

• Alignment with TTA’s Referee and Umpire development targets in the Strategic Plan

• Contribution toward the applicant’s progression along the officiating pathway

• The applicant’s demonstrated commitment (e.g., officiating frequency, administrative adherence, pathway progression)

• Potential benefit to the wider table tennis community (e.g., addressing official shortages in certain States/Territories)

• Genuine financial need of the applicant
